Best Furniture Store is an editorial ranking publication covering furniture retailers in the United States — where they are, what they actually carry, and what a shopper can expect walking in the door. We publish state pages, city pages, category pages, and individual store profiles, each built from a record we can trace back to a named source. What the masthead covers

The editorial team maintains the store database, writes the per-store descriptions and rankings, and keeps the scoring formula in src/lib/ranking.ts honest against the data. That includes checking new store records against OpenStreetMap and Google Places before publication, researching brand and service detail that isn't in either of those sources, and re-verifying older records over time rather than letting them go stale silently.

Every published page carries a byline of the Best Furniture Store editorial team and a visible "Updated" date. We don't publish under a fabricated individual name, and we don't backdate a page to make it look older, or more recently touched, than the record actually is.

Editorial standards

Three rules govern every page on this site, and they apply the same way whether a page gets ten visitors a year or ten thousand:

• Nothing is invented. A store's name, address, phone number, hours, brands, and services all trace to a recorded source. If we don't have a fact, the field is left blank on the page — it is never filled in with a plausible guess.
• Everything is dated. A record's last-verified date is part of the page, not a hidden database column. A reader should never have to guess how current what they're reading is.
• Thresholds are real limits. A page publishes only once the underlying data clears the minimums set out on How We Rank. Thin markets don't get a thin page — they get no page, until there's enough verified data to earn one.

Data sources and attribution

Store location and category data draws on OpenStreetMap, © OpenStreetMap contributors, licensed under the Open Database License (ODbL) (opens in a new tab). We're grateful to the volunteer mappers who keep that data current; without it, a project of this scope wouldn't be possible. Address, hours, and contact details are cross-checked against Google Places data before a record is published. Corrections policy

Furniture retail changes fast: stores relocate, close, change owners, or add and drop brands from one season to the next. If something on this site is wrong — an address that no longer applies, a phone number that's been disconnected, a brand a store no longer carries — tell us. Email editorial@bestfurniturestore.com with the store's name and city, what you believe is wrong, and, where you can, a source we can check it against.

We review correction requests against the sources on file and, where warranted, against a fresh check of the store itself. Corrections are applied on a dated basis: the record's verified-at date updates when we make the change, and we don't quietly edit a page without updating that date. We don't run a public changelog for every edit, but the current verified-at date on any store page tells you when it was last touched.

This same address handles requests from store owners to update or add information — services, brands carried, showroom square footage — that isn't visible from public records. We ask for something that lets us verify the claim, the same as we would for any other correction.
